I've always been fascinated by the collaborative, mosaic-style of storytelling demanded by theatre; the elements of a theatrical work, unlike many of their counterparts (installations, novels, poetry, fashion design, for example) are not meant for standalone consumption, and instead seem to both draw and provide the crux of their strength from interaction with each other.

This is what I find truly interesting - the way directors, actors, playwrights, and all theatre artists come together to act as a single storyteller, ultimately more than just the sum of its parts. When designing a show, I feel more than lucky to be able to play my part in turning a few initial sparks of ideas into what feels like a living, breathing organism that comes into its own right on stage.
